Blogging Code of Conduct

The FAA Today welcomes thoughtful and appropriate commenting and blogging. Our goal is to see varied viewpoints, opinion and insights. In order to accomplish this, FAA Today has established the following standards of conduct. Any post that fails to conform to these rules may be withdrawn from the website, and repeated violations, or particularly egregious posts, may result in a user’s right being suspended or revoked, in the sole discretion of FAA Today. When posting, please abide by the following rules:

  1. You should strive to have open and honest dialogues with our readers. You must be fair and credible in gathering, reporting and interpreting information.
  2. You must correct inaccurate or misleading postings in a timely manner.
  3. You must never plagiarize.
  4. You should disclose in your post any conflicts of interest.
  5. You must adhere to our code of ethics, and not publish information you know or have reason to know is inaccurate or misleading.
  6. You must strive to always respect a person’s character and identity, privacy, race, nationality and belief. You must never draw attention to personal and private aspects that are inappropriate for public review, such as race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification, national origin and similar matter.
  7. You must use good judgment in protecting personal and corporate information and in respecting the privacy of individuals who use our blogs.
  8. You must understand that respect goes both ways. You must be judicious in your posts and respond in a respectful manner.
  9. You may provide links to relevant material available on other blogs and web sites. You must disclose any sources fully, through credits and links, unless the source has requested anonymity.
  10. You must respect all parties’ intellectual property rights.
  11. You must review your posts prior to posting on our blog.
  12.  You should welcome constructive criticism.
  13.  You may not post comments that are inappropriate, defamatory, abusive, profane or otherwise offensive.
  14. You may not post comments that are spam.
  15.  You may not post comments for commercial advantage.
